Who we are

Rent Your Rear Ltd operates the website rentyourrear.co.uk. We connect UK drivers with local businesses who want to advertise on the rear of their cars.

For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the data controller of the personal information you give us.

What we collect

Drivers: your name, email address, postcode area, vehicle make, model and type, and an optional rear photo of your car. The photo is used only to check suitability for removable signage.

Advertisers: your name, email address, business name and type, campaign budget, target postcode areas, and the number of cars you want to advertise on.

We also collect standard technical data (such as pages visited) to keep the site secure and understand how it is used.

How we use it

To match advertisers with suitable drivers in their target areas.

To contact you about campaigns, matches and your account.

To send occasional service updates. We will never sell your data or share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Legal basis

We process your data to perform a contract with you (running your campaign or driver account), with your consent (optional photos and updates), and for our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service.

How long we keep it

We keep driver and campaign data while your account is active and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless the law requires longer. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@rentyourrear.co.uk.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.

Security

Your data is stored on encrypted, access-controlled infrastructure. Driver photos are stored privately and are only visible to our team when assessing vehicle suitability.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page. Significant changes will be flagged by email where we hold your address.
